The Amazing Walk to Subscriber’s Nite

I attended Stuart Tan’s Subscribers Nite yesterday and I must say that it totally exceeded my expectations; I was pleased.

Initially, Ashley and I were hunting for a hotel room in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore and later found ourselves at Tiong Bahru, 2 stations away. All the hotels we had been to were fully booked! We wonder what the special occasion was.

Fortunately, we have a place in JB town otherwise we’d be spending the night on the streets of Singapore! We were offered a suite but given it was only a night for two, I found it not worth the spending. The only regrets I had were that I should’ve brought more name cards, and wished I could spend more time after the event.

ENGRISH!!

Ashley picked up an abundance of gems from the event itself, since she’s relatively not totally exposed to Internet Marketing (yet).

I had the privilege to meet a bunch of cool folks such as:-

Stuart Tan “da man”
The host for the night. Cannot help but poke fun into his speech at times but he sure got me when he publicly exposed my “free labor tactic” (those who had been there that night, you know what I’m talking about 😉 ).

Jaz Lai
His presentation and speech were good, and I picked up quite some gems from his list building methods. Hmm.. would it surprise you if I told you Jaz Lai was formerly a fashion designer? Again, should have stayed longer so I could pick his brains.

Joseph Then
Hah – it was good seeing him in person again. We really should work on SEARIM #2. 🙂

Justin Koh
Didn’t expect to see him there, though not entirely surprised. Was half expecting his other tag team partner, Nelson, to turn up.

Pat
Pat was handing out a set of unique name cards, each with a picture of different fruits. I chose the one with grapes and amazingly, Pat could foretell my character on the spot – simply by the type of fruit I picked! I don’t know about others, but she was right when she explained I’m that of a thinker and loner by nature. These individuals tend to pick grapes. The leader-type tend to pick tomatoes whereas follower-minds often pick the pear.

Ming Chern
Haven’t seen Ming Chern for a while already. Hair’s already long. Haa ha…

Jacklyn Ker
For some reason, I think that Jacklyn’s pretty familiar. I wonder if I saw her at the last Subscriber’s Nite some months back?

Azmi
Didn’t really had the chance to talk to him long enough, but he owes me a photo! 😛

Edmund Toh (the clone?)
There must be a factory nearby producing a bender of spoons in my brand. He’s been visiting my blog often (under the name of BillionaireKid on MyBlogLog). Not too long ago, he’s just completed his service to the Singapore Army and is going full speed in the Network Marketing arena!

Andrew Tan
This chap associates with Shawn Wang and Joel Christopher, who had been in Singapore not too long ago. For a moment, I thought that Andrew IS Shawn – but he went on to say that they actually look miles apart. Oops, my bad.

I’ve met way more people at the event than the enlisted names for sure, but can’t recall every single one of them unfortunately (sorry if your name isn’t here!).

Moral of the story: always bring your name cards!

Moral of the story #2: And then, bring some more! 🙂

All in all, the event was a good one and I look forward to another one like this!

The Great Singapore Adventure!

Yes, it really was a great re-visit to Singapore and Expo Hall although it was quite impromptu for me. 🙂

I was to originally meet a small group of Singaporean Internet Marketers such as Dylan Loh, Stuart Tan, Kelvin Yeo, and iKontent (haha), and Siah (though he’s from Sabah; he’s just studying here) across the causeway.

But what did you know? In spite of initially planning that Khai, Dennis Sim and Vince Tan just following me from Johor Bahru and making their own way towards the Expo Hall on the extreme East of Singapore while I hang out at Woodlands with the Singaporean gang, I ended up staying in Singapore overnight and attended the Internet Millionaire Incubator seminar too!

And I’m so glad I came over. 🙂

Dylan Loh with Khai and Dennis Sim. As usual, they’re always up to no good. 😛

Vince, Khai and Dennis made an early move to the Mercure Roxy Hotel whereas I stayed behind with the group at Woodlands to carry on a pure Internet Marketing discussion. Learned a decent deal on SEO and looks like Dylan (my other half) and I will probably be working on a Product Launch real soon, probably during the Christmas season! 🙂

Siah followed me, like, 75% of the MRT journey as soon as the Woodlands meeting ended as he had flyers to distribute at Bugis. I was well on way to the Expo Hall as the three stooges were expecting me then.

Haunting the Expo Hall Again

Met quite a number of interesting people here at the Internet Millionaire Incubator seminar in Expo Hall, Singapore.

Stuart Tan and Friends

This is Stuart Tan here. Since I didn’t see him in Woodlands, it didn’t take any further educated guess to know he would be at the Expo Hall! So hah, I nailed him right there.

L-R: Vince, Me, Stuart, Dennis, Khai.

Jo Han Mok & Matt Bacak

Aaaa-hah! That’s me with Jo Han Mok and Matt Bacak! Truth be told, this is my second time seeing Jo Han in person, the first time being in March just last year. I think he put on weight… like 10kg or so – really good life, some people.

What amazes me to this day, really, is how some of the most successful people can still remain humble and modest. And these two guys here are the prime examples. Edmund, you have sooooo much more to learn from them!

Hmm… seen Patric Chan there as well. He probably was wondering what I was doing in Singapore when just two weeks back he saw me in KL briefly. Haha…

I’ve met another familiar person, Lesley Chew, at the seminar. She must be a real seminar junkie because not only have I seen her in almost every one of them in the past, I can almost half-expect her to turn up for the next one! 🙂 Haha – what a totally positive attitude towards learning. That’s another one I must discipline myself to pick up.

And to wrap up the Day 1 of “impromptu” trip to Singapore Expo Hall…

Orgasm

Uhh… what’s this dude trying to do?

Freeloading at Mercure Roxy and Time Zone…

Since I made a last minute decision to stay in Singapore for the night, I followed the three stooges to the 4-star Mercure Roxy Hotel – at the expense of sleeping on the floor (then, it really was good thing… only if you knew why 🙂 ).

Fortunately, the hotel provided the basic hygiene stuffs like tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo, soap, and towel (duuuh). That pretty much took care of things – only I had to becareful about my clothes since I only had the one I was wearing on.

Before the night ended, we all decided to re-live our childhood at the Time Zone!

Khai Stalker!

I know that Khai enjoys the Dance Dance Revolution machine, but why did I have a feeling it has got nothing to do with it now? My wild imagination maybe. I don’t know.

I had a deck of fun playing numerous games at the arcade – such as Time Crisis 3 (non-stop shooting action!), throwing hoops (though two of four basketballs ended up “somewhere else”), sampled out the dance machine (beginner’s level, of course), ice hockey table, and what say more… 🙂

But Vince just had to try to spoil my fun by challenging me to a Hunter’s game, which was really foolish of him in my opinion because it just so happens that I was pretty good with guns.

Vince & Edmund

Yes that’s him posing the toy shotgun with me. He was about to challenge me to a hunter’s match in seeing who hunts down the most wild animals in numerous spot scenarios.

Several spots and two bonus stages later, it became quite *crystal* clear that my display of raw skills and marksmanship owns Vince anytime.

Don’t believe me? Check this out:

The Score

Told you.

!@#$%^&*()

Whoa chill man – it’s just a game! At least you’ve creamed me at throwing hoops (though I was handicapped; I already threw two of four basketballs behind the machine). Sooo… does this mean our JV partnership is still on? I hope so!

Ice Hockey

One final duel with Khai… and what do you know? I still had plenty of credits (like SGD20+!) in my Time Zone card! Better remind myself to use them again if and when I happen to drop by any Time Zone arcade in Singapore the next time I come and visit.

Thus the day ended…

Day Two – Return to Expo Hall and Then Back To JB!

I thought of returning home early morning but since Vince was going to be speaking on stage in the afternoon, it didn’t hurt to stay a while more to support him. 🙂

I met more chaps this day – CW, William Quek, Samuel, and Jaz Lai (nice funky hair, btw 🙂 ).

Admittedly though, I was low on battery – hand phone, MP3 player, and physically. Ack.

However in my opinion, the most interesting and moving highlight of the day was one delivered by Mel Gill – not only did his speech answered a lot of my previous questions and concerns (albeit not totally related to Internet Marketing but more towards life and relationship), I really like the way he presented himself and his humor was tops! Too bad the Singaporean crowd was slow in catching them. I want to be like him when I grow up – haha! 😛

As soon as Vince’s presentation was over (mind you, it was his first one ever), I was all ready to head home in JB. All in all, it was a really great Singapore re-visit! 🙂

PLRGold5 Post-Launch – Conclusion & Report

Whoa… What a blast it had been for the past 7 days! 🙂

By midnight of 11th September 2007 at Eastern Time, the PLRGold5 launch achieved VENGEANCE level and concluded with over US$65,000+ in total sales, not including back-ends, and more than 565 affiliates and Joint Venture Partners in the database – as opposed to the 483 affiliates who have joined prior to the launch on 3rd September 2007 at 8:00 AM EST.

That’s sixty-five thousand dollars in seven days – of which 55-60% of the sum equals to profits. And even after the launch has entered post-launch phase, PLRGold5 (now PLRGold:Enterprise) is still accepting orders and went past $71,000 in total sales in 10 days after the official launch!

I may have missed my goal of breaking into the magical 6-figure range in total sales (in US Dollars) within the crucial, highly anticipated week, but I am satisfied nonetheless, because I’ve already given my 200% effort and commitment and have absolutely zero regrets. I’ve given all of my best given my current skill and ability, and the entire Product Launch was a very educational process for me, very priceless.

I have had also come to prove that age (no matter how young you are :-)), academic qualifications and geographic location are NOT a factor – the skills and ability to mastermind and orchestrate a planet-scale Product Launch does. I’m not exaggerating when I say “planet-scale” if you know where my Joint Venture partners and customers are coming from.

While it’s still fresh on my mind right now, I shall post some details on the launch for my future studies. I trust this information will not only come in handy when I execute future Product Launches on the Internet, I am sure you will benefit from my insights if you’re planning to pull off one, too.

(In no particular order)

The Launch Was Great Because:

1. I started pushing the pre-launch phase for PLRGold5 one month prior to the official launch. This gave my prospects more than enough time to prepare for what’s coming into the Internet Marketing arena and building interests among them.

2. The products and the launch were exceptional. I built my USP (unique selling proposition) around PLRGold as “the *Biggest* PLR Blowout of the Year” thus standing out from my competitors distinctly. PLR authors are a dime a dozen, to say it like it is. It also required balls to talk big, and ability to walk the talk. It was also going to be the final launch for my flagship PLRGold website, thus I strongly feel that most of the success of the Product Launch is owed to this key factor.

3. I contacted JV Partners and recruited affiliates like mad! Would it surprise you if I told you that I was very shy about contacting potential partners, even though I need not see them in person (email, duh…)? I still am today. But I broke out of my comfort zone and developed the “thick skin” because I constantly reminded myself that I really had nothing to lose but all to gain. Besides, the worst that it could get is just the potential JV Partner saying “no”. So I didn’t hold back and contacted as many potential JV Partners via email, phone and meet-up-in-persons as I could humanly do. I have had also given special privileges to a handful of people to recruit JV Partners on my behalf in exchange for 2-tier commissions to reach as many JV Partners in my niche as possible.

4. I poured out teasers and built my Advance Notification List members. In effort to generate a buzz and interests among my prospects, I began dropping teasers like a free report, exclusive audio interview (thanks to James Brown this was made possible :-)) and offering preview copies to PLRGold5 in exchange for the visitor’s subscription to my Advance Notification List so I can alert them when PLRGold5 goes live.

5. I motivated my JV Partners and affiliates with cash and prizes. This is the first time I have implemented a contest for PLRGold5. I was hesitant to do so initially because I had no idea how well it would perform. But against my doubts (gladly!) I carried it out with faith and what did you know, it worked like a charm! Having a JV Partner “Battle for Supremacy” contest encouraged me to work up creative ways to reward my JV Partners and affiliates while motivating them as well.

6. PLRGold is already a recognized brand in the Private Label Rights industry. Ah, what an advantage. 🙂

7. I have made use of “scarcity factor” without having to resort to closing the sale permanently even after 7 days. Previously, the live of my PLRGold sales were limited to only 7 days, no longer. This time, I was determined to keep the site running and accepting orders even after the official launch. It would have robbed the urgency factor that my prospects didn’t had to purchase on the spot, so it took me a while to brainstorm for ideas – price increment and Early Bird Bonuses were the answers. And they were the damn right ones.

8. I’ve catered to a hot demand! This one matters just as much too. And in making things easier, I also offered an installment plan for those who could not afford the full price thus lowering the barrier entry!

It Could Have Been Better If:

1. I have tested the system thoroughly enough and made it more efficient. I should have gotten myself a spare server to support the anticipated traffic surge, which usually happens turbulently on a launch day – especially if you have like, nearly 500 people pushing the word out about your product. As a result, the server crashed the moment PLRGold5 went live thus we “lost the heat” in the first two hours just rectifying the server problems.

2. I have a team of people to handle the support issues. This would have allowed me time to strategize further and decide the flow and direction of the Product Launch much better, plus take the time to help and motivate my JV Partners and affiliates. On the other hand, it would have significantly improved customer support and speed up the rate of solving their problems such as logins, downloads, queries and closing the sales.

3. I have had aimed more teasers to the end-users. This would have definitely helped increase my conversion rates and sales significantly, rather than just focusing on finding JV Partners with influence, though this aspect is equally important.

All in all, the Product Launch wouldn’t have been even nowhere near as successful if not for my family and friends who have been rooting for me (rock on~!); JV Partners and affiliates for having faith in me and my products thus helping to push PLRGold5 into the marketplace; and let’s not forget my customers – thank you for your support! 🙂

** Click here to visit the PLRGold Hall of Fame for full extension of credits and gratitude. **

Remember: this isn’t the end but just the beginning! 🙂

So What’s Next?

I will be taking a seeeerious break from Internet Marketing and yes, I have plenty to catch in the world of the living – such as moving into the *pink* house, beefing up my social life (it’s been suffering from years of neglect), “going to school” with Mindvalley Labs, meeting old friends, helping out with SOLOBIS, heading to the UYMG seminar at KLCC end of the month with Hazel and Matt, and more in the pipeline.

This doesn’t mean that I will be totally cutting myself off from Internet Marketing – I still have plenty to do for my new customers and plan to revamp most of my main websites – including converting PLRGold5 into PLRGold: Enterprise – in effort for better servicing to my members, subscribers and customers. There are still my pending contracts to execute further Product Launches with other Internet Marketers such as Vince Tan and Khai and more to come.

However, I will be wrapping up this small episode in my life with a stunning achievement on my latest breakthrough in terms of mental capacity, income, skills, confidence and ability.

And who knows, my success story might just go down into printing and inspire hundreds, potentially thousands of people? A very welcoming possibility, definitely.

Still, like everything else, there is always room for improvement and I will be starting off a new chapter in life with more confidence, more soul-searching and certainly a much more positive frame of mind.

With more money to re-invest into my business and serving my PLRGold5 members plus donating to charities, this is just the beginning, like I’ve said, and it will be far from ending. 🙂

Until the next time, and thank you everyone!

The PLRGold Launch – Progress Update

Hi!

For the first time, I have to juggle between running a Product Launch and traveling outstation but I seem to be doing pretty good at handling it.

It’s been 5 days since the PLRGold5 launch has been in effect. I would be lying if I said that the launch went smoothly. The drama started as soon as it went live – I switched the preview page to the live copy where the order links were then clickable.

And what ensued was a server crash!

Fortunately it was taken care of within a couple of hours thanks to Vince Tan, Aurelius Tjin, Frank Bauer, and 10 more other guys – whom I have no idea why I invited them into the MSN chat box in a panicky situation – but we “lost the heat” at the hottest hour, so to speak.

That was Product launch mistake #1. 🙁

I will cover more on the PLRGold5 launch after it concludes by next Monday as not only is it still in effect, I also have plenty to share on my experience – good and bad.

One day when I do my next Product Launch, I will just look back at my archived posting and remember what it was like doing a Product Launch at my current skill and level today. Thinking long-term, I should write about it at this time while it’s fresh in my mind and relate as much details as I could – and would be willing to share, as a reminder and “bible” to Product Launch success. 🙂

And when you execute your first or next Product Launch, I hope that my insights would really help.

On the brighter note, at least we didn’t do too bad in the first 24 hours of the launch.

PLRGold5 - 24 Hour Duration

There’s still 3 days to go or so; I will conclude the results on the 7th day.

And there will be hundreds of people to thank. Again, more on this next week. 🙂 Do check back because it’s going to be the Appreciation Day for all of my friends, JV Partners, affiliates and customers! It will be a lengthy but interesting write – peppered with pictures, photos and “ah-hah” moments. Take my word for it.

Before I wrap this up, thought you might find this interesting.

A lot of my friends had asked me questions like:

“So what are you going to do with all the money?”

“Okay, you’re loaded! So what next? Buy a house? A BMW?”

“Does this mean you’ll finally stop wearing the same clothes and do something about the hole in your underwear?” (Edmund: …)

“Taking a break after this?” (Edmund: Yep! I need a vacation, even though I’m a workaholic.)

“Will there be a PLRGold6? What about PLRGold10?” (Edmund: I publicly announced that PLRGold5 will be the final!)

And here’s a really good one that I have heard from at least 2-3 different people – in one version or another:

“Edmund, do you have plans to take over the world?”

Hmmm… you don’t seriously think I’d turn to the dark side, do you?

Darth Edmund Loh

Much less actually conquer the world?

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Edmund Loh’s Revenge

That would actually make a really, really good dream, though. 🙂
