PLRGold5 Post-Launch – Conclusion & Report

Whoa… What a blast it had been for the past 7 days! 🙂

By midnight of 11th September 2007 at Eastern Time, the PLRGold5 launch achieved VENGEANCE level and concluded with over US$65,000+ in total sales, not including back-ends, and more than 565 affiliates and Joint Venture Partners in the database – as opposed to the 483 affiliates who have joined prior to the launch on 3rd September 2007 at 8:00 AM EST.

That’s sixty-five thousand dollars in seven days – of which 55-60% of the sum equals to profits. And even after the launch has entered post-launch phase, PLRGold5 (now PLRGold:Enterprise) is still accepting orders and went past $71,000 in total sales in 10 days after the official launch!

I may have missed my goal of breaking into the magical 6-figure range in total sales (in US Dollars) within the crucial, highly anticipated week, but I am satisfied nonetheless, because I’ve already given my 200% effort and commitment and have absolutely zero regrets. I’ve given all of my best given my current skill and ability, and the entire Product Launch was a very educational process for me, very priceless.

I have had also come to prove that age (no matter how young you are :-)), academic qualifications and geographic location are NOT a factor – the skills and ability to mastermind and orchestrate a planet-scale Product Launch does. I’m not exaggerating when I say “planet-scale” if you know where my Joint Venture partners and customers are coming from.

While it’s still fresh on my mind right now, I shall post some details on the launch for my future studies. I trust this information will not only come in handy when I execute future Product Launches on the Internet, I am sure you will benefit from my insights if you’re planning to pull off one, too.

(In no particular order)

The Launch Was Great Because:

1. I started pushing the pre-launch phase for PLRGold5 one month prior to the official launch. This gave my prospects more than enough time to prepare for what’s coming into the Internet Marketing arena and building interests among them.

2. The products and the launch were exceptional. I built my USP (unique selling proposition) around PLRGold as “the *Biggest* PLR Blowout of the Year” thus standing out from my competitors distinctly. PLR authors are a dime a dozen, to say it like it is. It also required balls to talk big, and ability to walk the talk. It was also going to be the final launch for my flagship PLRGold website, thus I strongly feel that most of the success of the Product Launch is owed to this key factor.

3. I contacted JV Partners and recruited affiliates like mad! Would it surprise you if I told you that I was very shy about contacting potential partners, even though I need not see them in person (email, duh…)? I still am today. But I broke out of my comfort zone and developed the “thick skin” because I constantly reminded myself that I really had nothing to lose but all to gain. Besides, the worst that it could get is just the potential JV Partner saying “no”. So I didn’t hold back and contacted as many potential JV Partners via email, phone and meet-up-in-persons as I could humanly do. I have had also given special privileges to a handful of people to recruit JV Partners on my behalf in exchange for 2-tier commissions to reach as many JV Partners in my niche as possible.

4. I poured out teasers and built my Advance Notification List members. In effort to generate a buzz and interests among my prospects, I began dropping teasers like a free report, exclusive audio interview (thanks to James Brown this was made possible :-)) and offering preview copies to PLRGold5 in exchange for the visitor’s subscription to my Advance Notification List so I can alert them when PLRGold5 goes live.

5. I motivated my JV Partners and affiliates with cash and prizes. This is the first time I have implemented a contest for PLRGold5. I was hesitant to do so initially because I had no idea how well it would perform. But against my doubts (gladly!) I carried it out with faith and what did you know, it worked like a charm! Having a JV Partner “Battle for Supremacy” contest encouraged me to work up creative ways to reward my JV Partners and affiliates while motivating them as well.

6. PLRGold is already a recognized brand in the Private Label Rights industry. Ah, what an advantage. 🙂

7. I have made use of “scarcity factor” without having to resort to closing the sale permanently even after 7 days. Previously, the live of my PLRGold sales were limited to only 7 days, no longer. This time, I was determined to keep the site running and accepting orders even after the official launch. It would have robbed the urgency factor that my prospects didn’t had to purchase on the spot, so it took me a while to brainstorm for ideas – price increment and Early Bird Bonuses were the answers. And they were the damn right ones.

8. I’ve catered to a hot demand! This one matters just as much too. And in making things easier, I also offered an installment plan for those who could not afford the full price thus lowering the barrier entry!

It Could Have Been Better If:

1. I have tested the system thoroughly enough and made it more efficient. I should have gotten myself a spare server to support the anticipated traffic surge, which usually happens turbulently on a launch day – especially if you have like, nearly 500 people pushing the word out about your product. As a result, the server crashed the moment PLRGold5 went live thus we “lost the heat” in the first two hours just rectifying the server problems.

2. I have a team of people to handle the support issues. This would have allowed me time to strategize further and decide the flow and direction of the Product Launch much better, plus take the time to help and motivate my JV Partners and affiliates. On the other hand, it would have significantly improved customer support and speed up the rate of solving their problems such as logins, downloads, queries and closing the sales.

3. I have had aimed more teasers to the end-users. This would have definitely helped increase my conversion rates and sales significantly, rather than just focusing on finding JV Partners with influence, though this aspect is equally important.

All in all, the Product Launch wouldn’t have been even nowhere near as successful if not for my family and friends who have been rooting for me (rock on~!); JV Partners and affiliates for having faith in me and my products thus helping to push PLRGold5 into the marketplace; and let’s not forget my customers – thank you for your support! 🙂

Remember: this isn’t the end but just the beginning! 🙂

So What’s Next?

I will be taking a seeeerious break from Internet Marketing and yes, I have plenty to catch in the world of the living – such as moving into the *pink* house, beefing up my social life (it’s been suffering from years of neglect), “going to school” with Mindvalley Labs, meeting old friends, helping out with SOLOBIS, heading to the UYMG seminar at KLCC end of the month with Hazel and Matt, and more in the pipeline.

This doesn’t mean that I will be totally cutting myself off from Internet Marketing – I still have plenty to do for my new customers and plan to revamp most of my main websites – including converting PLRGold5 into PLRGold: Enterprise – in effort for better servicing to my members, subscribers and customers. There are still my pending contracts to execute further Product Launches with other Internet Marketers such as Vince Tan and Khai and more to come.

However, I will be wrapping up this small episode in my life with a stunning achievement on my latest breakthrough in terms of mental capacity, income, skills, confidence and ability.

And who knows, my success story might just go down into printing and inspire hundreds, potentially thousands of people? A very welcoming possibility, definitely.

Still, like everything else, there is always room for improvement and I will be starting off a new chapter in life with more confidence, more soul-searching and certainly a much more positive frame of mind.

With more money to re-invest into my business and serving my PLRGold5 members plus donating to charities, this is just the beginning, like I’ve said, and it will be far from ending. 🙂

Until the next time, and thank you everyone!

The PLRGold Launch – Progress Update

For the first time, I have to juggle between running a Product Launch and traveling outstation but I seem to be doing pretty good at handling it.

It’s been 5 days since the PLRGold5 launch has been in effect. I would be lying if I said that the launch went smoothly. The drama started as soon as it went live – I switched the preview page to the live copy where the order links were then clickable.

And what ensued was a server crash!

Fortunately it was taken care of within a couple of hours thanks to Vince Tan, Aurelius Tjin, Frank Bauer, and 10 more other guys – whom I have no idea why I invited them into the MSN chat box in a panicky situation – but we “lost the heat” at the hottest hour, so to speak.

That was Product launch mistake #1. 🙁

I will cover more on the PLRGold5 launch after it concludes by next Monday as not only is it still in effect, I also have plenty to share on my experience – good and bad.

One day when I do my next Product Launch, I will just look back at my archived posting and remember what it was like doing a Product Launch at my current skill and level today. Thinking long-term, I should write about it at this time while it’s fresh in my mind and relate as much details as I could – and would be willing to share, as a reminder and “bible” to Product Launch success. 🙂

And when you execute your first or next Product Launch, I hope that my insights would really help.

On the brighter note, at least we didn’t do too bad in the first 24 hours of the launch.

PLRGold5 - 24 Hour Duration

There’s still 3 days to go or so; I will conclude the results on the 7th day.

And there will be hundreds of people to thank. Again, more on this next week. 🙂 Do check back because it’s going to be the Appreciation Day for all of my friends, JV Partners, affiliates and customers! It will be a lengthy but interesting write – peppered with pictures, photos and “ah-hah” moments. Take my word for it.

Before I wrap this up, thought you might find this interesting.

A lot of my friends had asked me questions like:

“So what are you going to do with all the money?”

“Okay, you’re loaded! So what next? Buy a house? A BMW?”

“Does this mean you’ll finally stop wearing the same clothes and do something about the hole in your underwear?” (Edmund: …)

“Taking a break after this?” (Edmund: Yep! I need a vacation, even though I’m a workaholic.)

“Will there be a PLRGold6? What about PLRGold10?” (Edmund: I publicly announced that PLRGold5 will be the final!)

And here’s a really good one that I have heard from at least 2-3 different people – in one version or another:

“Edmund, do you have plans to take over the world?”

Hmmm… you don’t seriously think I’d turn to the dark side, do you?

Darth Edmund Loh

Much less actually conquer the world?

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Edmund Loh’s Revenge

That would actually make a really, really good dream, though. 🙂

In Less Than 3 Hours From Now…

… the BIGGEST PLR blowout of the year will take place in the Internet Marketing arena – planet-wide.

8 months of silence after the previous PLRGold release back in January this year.

2 months of idea brainstorming, planning and conception.

4 weeks of pushing the pre-launch sequence.

9 days of performing the winning ritual and abstaining from meat.

471 JV Partners & Affiliates and still counting.

40+ new PLR products up for ante.

Several days of membership and affiliate system set up.

Boasting? I can’t allow myself to be disarmed with modesty at this stage. I have worked really, really hard (literally 200% effort) to conceive the fifth and final PLRGold release, which is due to launch today at 8:00 AM Eastern Time.

And I am totally convinced that no one has ever put together a PLR Blowout this size, this scale at any time before… until today.

Now I’m bidding my time. The verdict will be answered in less than 3 hours from now.

Mindvalley Labs, Flickr Party & Meeting New People

Another crazy but interesting week to conclude the very eventful month of August! 😉

Earlier this month, I was given the “opportunity of the lifetime” to learn from yet another highly successful E-Commerce company, situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

It’s totally cool in more ways than one, because for starters, I don’t have to commit myself to them – this means I can still work on my business at anytime I want and come in at any time I want for the next four weeks.

Secondly, they are running a lot of very interesting projects and their strategies, concepts, people, management, etc. are soooo unconventional. I am not apart of their team, but I will be coming in to brainstorm ideas with them in exchange for priceless education no money can buy.

Yes, they have openly admitted they want to pick my brain. Well, I’m not game after salary (since I already have a lot of those green stuff by now) so it would be wise if I pick the brains of the 10-20 smart people there, so heck they can have my brain for all I care! 😛

Monday – 27th August

Ok, it’s time to “go to school” at Mindvalley Labs.

Oh, didn’t I tell you that it’s also called the MV Institute, School of Higher Learning for Gifted Youngsters? (Man this sounds so much like X-Men now…)

The MV Institute

Hmm… School of Higher Learning for Gifted Youngsters. Man, I should be honored. 🙂

The first mutant MV-Men, Khai Lee greeted me as soon as I entered the “MV Institute”…

Khai Lee a.k.a. Alpha 5 from Power Rangers

Yup, that’s Khai Lee but…

… DUDE (yeah there goes my constipated-looking face again), Power Rangers? Whoa – that’s nostalgic! Reminds me a lot about my Power Ranger and Zord toys back when I was still a kid (wait, I AM still a kid – only at heart).

Ok so Khai Lee, his other fellow mutant Janne and I then proceeded to do battle of the brains – also called brainstorming – on a couple of their current projects – out of their 1,732,986 web projects in total.

Khai Lee

It’s interesting to note that I know all of the 3 Khai brothers, starting from their youngest one, Khai Yong, who was my former school- and class mate, then Khai the eldest of the 3, and later Khai Lee himself, though I knew he existed for some time earlier, since he too went to the same school and was 2 years my senior.

Janne – he hails from Finland and is a very brilliant person. A common trait among all the mutants people here at Mindvalley Labs, also known as the MV-Institute of Higher Learning for Gifted Youngsters (like me, since I can bend my both my thumbs straight). This guy is excellent when it comes to programming and applications. He’s proven to be highly a systematic planner and he does Yoga in his free time. Ok, worship ends here.

So we finished up most of the Monday and Tuesday brainstorming for ideas and coming up with solutions on a couple of their latest projects. 🙂

Tuesday Night at Flickr’s

An impromptu invitation to one of the KL clubs for Internet mutants! Hosted by Flickr.

Flickr Bash

They were all total strangers to me there – and I was reminded of what a shy person I really am – I intend to do something about this after my PLRGold5 launch… really seriously. A friend of mine told me that she thinks I’m not shy, but very very self-conscious. She’s right about that too. Hmm… Another problem to tackle at the roots.

Anyway, I did what I came here for. Take pics. Do some poses. And then more.

Edmund “Ninja” Loh with Tim Tim. Hmm… why was I so tanned? No, I didn’t drink.

Da Gang

L-R: Me, Tim Tim, Khai Lee, Meike.

A little bit about Meike: she started working with Mindvalley as an Intern just last 2 Mondays ago. She hails all the way from Germany, and is now learning to experience the local culture here! 🙂

Wednesday – The Night of the Owls

I didn’t want to pass up the chance to meet 2 of my avid blog stalkers fans, Ben Chin and Peng Joon, even though it was going to be very late at night.

So yeah, I walked all the way from DU, passing by 1Utama and then to Banana Leaf at Centrepoint. Yes, I’ve got an abundance of stamina. 🙂

Deserted 1U

Hmmm… it’s not all the time you get to see 1U THIS empty. So here I am with Matt Ng, Ben Chin and Peng Joon.

Teh Tarik!!

This went on all the way until 3:30 in the morning. 😐

Thursday – Meeting the Big Cheese

Starting the day before, I hadn’t really slept (does 5 hours of half-sleeping with an active brain in 72 hours count?). My mind was hyper active even though my body was physically tired. Happens all the time when I get an influx of idea overload. If I am not worried, I am super excited. Not good for health, though, since it robs my sleep.

So okay, I went to Mindvalley Labs again and this time, guess who I met?

Professor V

The tanned version of Professor X. Alright. Let’s do Battle of the Brains again. You’re on!

After this, since I was to go back to Johor Bahru again the next morning, I decided to drop by and visit Sen Ze and friends.

I didn’t take any photos here, but it was great to know that my SOLOBIS buddies there are doing good. 🙂

Btw, fun fact: Sen Ze’s latest book, AirAsia’s Success Story, co-authored with Jayne Ng, had achieved bestseller status within just 2 weeks after launch into the local bookstores. CONGRATULATIONS! 🙂 That was a nasty feat.

I didn’t chance upon meeting Karan Dhillon, my gooood friend arch enemy at the SOLOBIS HQ. But for the fun of teasing him and his obsession over Sesame Street, I’ll just post this edited pic here.

Go ahead – click on the thumbnail and view the enlarged picture. I made this spoof pic some couple of months back. 🙂

Friday – Journey to the South and Independence Day

I was at Pudu in the morning, just an hour before my scheduled bus trip to the South. Coincidentally, today was Independence Day and there was a parade nearby.

There were aircrafts performing some show on TV and since I was very nearby, the sound of the aircrafts zooming by at super-sonic speed was deafening!

Ah, and here’s our friendly guys in white.

Men in White

Ok so that pretty much wraps it up! 🙂

Meeting MattGyver, The PLRGold “Uncut” Interview, And More Fun!

Simply can’t resist putting up photos and a quick summary of yet another interesting weekend. Goes to show that playing hard is just as important as working hard! 🙂

So here you have it: this week’s wrap-up…

After a week spent in Johor Bahru in effort of preparing the upcoming PLRGold5 launch, I went back to the rat hole rented room in PJ, only to be greeted by…

Door Knob Condemned!

… a broken doorknob. And my reaction?

Since I have two left hands when it comes to handiwork, I decided to immediately engage…

MattGyver Ng

Yup, our very own local “MacGvyer” who goes by the name of MattGyver. 🙂 Since I was going to meet up with him for a drink anyway – and discuss Internet Marketing and the PLRGold5 video interview (to be scheduled 2 days later) – I might as well ask him to help me out with the doorknob.

Unfortunately, Matt discovered that the doorknob challenge proved to be beyond his ability. 🙁 So we did the next smartest thing.

We called in the locksmith and he solved the problem almost instantly! 😉

Locksmith with Matt Ng

Saturday – Chilling Day

Having spent a large quantity of time in front of the computer since 1496, I decided I need some time out. So I headed to The Curve.

Borders bookstore was having a sale where a lot of popular titles and bestsellers were being sold at large discounts. Darn, I saw a number of my favorite books in which I have had bought earlier – now being sold at a deep discount. Only if I had waited a little longer. Nevermind.

I decided to have my hair “re-serviced” while I was there.

That’s Eve Soh over there, servicing other customers. I find it hard to accept that she practically 0wn3d me in Quadro Pop (a mini game in which you can find in the latest Sony Ericsson handphones) as her highest score more than doubled mine. Amazing yet that she actually found the time to play this little game in her own hand phone when she works 29.56 hours a day.

On my way back to Uptown, I stopped by the BU park to see what function was going on – Merdeka special celebration, it seemed.

BU Park

And passing by is my “Friend in Yellow”, Digi dudes. 😉

Digi Dude

Realizing that I was walking on empty stomache, I took a detour to McDonald’s for a quick meal.

I couldn’t help but notice that in their tray leaflet and latest promotion “gimmick” called Dip Jack, the character seems to strongly resemble a cheap knock-off from Kisuke Urahara of Bleach Anime fame.

Urahara (inset) Dip Jack

Notice the similarities, Bleach fans? 🙂

Sunday – The PLRGold Video Interview

All right, chilling time’s over. Let’s get down to business, shall we?

Lap Top & Gun

There! What I need to start the day.

Mafia IMer

Lap Top, Shotgun, 9mm Beretta, and a McDonald’s meal – how complete!

Ok, now let’s do that interview I came here for.

Held Hostage!

Don’t tell me this is how we’re going to conduct the Interview.

3 hours later…

This is the FIRST and BEST interview I have ever done on video.

Don’t you agree? 😉 Now that I am done, I’m taking these home with me. 😛

The Toolkit

Until the next time and I’ll keep you posted on my adventures!
