DBA Jakarta Live

Last year I went to DBA Surabaya Live as a speaker, this time I returned as an attendee. Joining me from Malaysia are my ex-interns Shaun and Cally, workshop student Kate, and newcomer Charis 🙂

There were about 70+ people attending this event, and even though I think some parts of the event could have been improved we got what we came for: networking and connections building. Plus, catching up with friends in this business from long ago.

Didn’t get much work done as Internet is sluggish at JS Luwansa and with long hours at the event. I reasoned that I do a launch almost every month but it’s not all the time I get to meet my business associates and friends face-to-face.

Spent a good 4 days here receiving luxury and pampered treatment, lol.

After the event, we extended another two more days stay to visit Jakarta…

Disney Land, Hong Kong

Went on a short vacation and took my mom to Disney Land in Hong Kong (yep, Hong Kong again… even though I was here just last month!)
With a lot going on this isn’t the best time for me to be on holiday, but I figure I can always make more money anytime.
Also, I promised her long ago to take her on a long overdue vacation and originally, the idea was to go to Europe. However it doesn’t seem that safe now, and my business is demanding more of my time than before, I wouldn’t have been able to properly plan the trip.
So, Disney Land it was.
Your parents won’t be forever young; if you can you should take them out for a treat while they still have the health and mobility to enjoy!

ATV Ride At ATV Adventure Park

It’s been an unusually busy month and especially in the past few weeks. While I’m happy with Musemancer‘s accelerated growth of late and that we doubled our team size now, a little celebration is in order – ATV ride up in Hulu Kelang!

This is also our first time having a team activity on a weekend, as previously we normally have it one of the weekdays. Even though I’ve rode the ATV before, this is one of the more dangerous ones – the offroad tracks up the hill are steep, and two of the girls had their ATVs flipped. And I too had a close encounter with a snake at the waterfall (only to learn later that it’s an Ular Katam Tebu, a venomous yellow snake!)

Glad we all got back safely… I’d hate to think what would have happened!

More action next week… 🙂

Traffic & Conversion Summit 2016

One of the two main highlights of my US trip. This is the first time I’ve met many of the Internet Entrepreneurs and Marketers that I’ve worked with or heard of for so many years… now face to face! Feeling is surreal and somewhat hard to believe. lol

This year’s T&C was attended by 2,500+ people, and the booths were crazy too… it’s as if my email promo tabs came to life!

The sessions were great but man it’s been a long time since I last had info overload (then again, I’ve been going from one mastermind to another meeting to yet another in the last 3 weeks)

Too bad I cannot stay around long enough for Mayhem next month as I need to be back in Malaysia, otherwise I won’t get much done! And trust me, there’s LOTS TO DO and I’m already itching!

In all I spent exactly one week in San Diego. I had time to visit a few places before and after the event including the famous San Diego Zoo, USS Midway and the Maritime Museum.

That was great and all but one more stop remains: Dallas.

Yes, back to origin…

The Californian Road Trip

Los Angeles and the subsequent places had a vibe far different from Dallas. This is more city-like, with lots of hustles and bustles and… unusually a lot of Asians. Hmmm… anyways I met Henry Gold at LAX and we embarked on a 5 day road trip with a mini van he rented.

Entertained the idea of getting an international driving license before this but after seeing the streets here, probably unwise to drive here (where I come from, our driver seats are on the right)

In 5 days we covered Universal Studios, Hearst Castle, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Montery, and of course the (in)famous Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco!

It was an exhaustive road trip, checking in and out of hotels every day and we were in the car most of the time. Had a lot of time to talk business and life with Henry. 🙂

I really owed him a lot for his generosity and despite his troubling personal issues he took time off to become tour guide. Made a mental note to return the favor when he visits my part of the woods in two years from now…

Great road trip overall! But the American journey is just about halfway through.

Next Stop: San Diego…
