I signed up for a 10 kilometre trail run, partly to also support a friend’s event that he’s part of the organizing team.
But since I do regular walks and jogs in the evening, I didn’t want this to be “just another run”… so I wore plate carrier. 🙂

Robert HBK and I joined a 40+ pax mini MILSIM at Batu Pahat.
We brought our only blasters to the game, the BK1/2S. While good for short range, it is outclassed by Springers at longer range. Still, we did good for its intended use.
The 2 highlights for me were
(1) the garrison of a small house in Round 2, that rekt a small team of incoming attackers by surprise
(2) the scenic route that Joe, Robert and I took to go around and flank the enemy’s base from behind
We held our ground in the first 2 rounds, though by the 3rd, half the team ran out of steam due to the hot weather.
Still fun in all!

Joined the 5KM Midvalley Southkey Charity Run, that I signed up for a few months ago.
And wow, the goodie bag and gift redemption is exceedingly generous! Is that why it’s called a “charity” run? If only there’s this incentive every day or week. Run 5KM and you get to claim all these!

P.S. And what a day it was, because when I got home, the electricity was out in the entire neighborhood for the rest of the day! There was a scheduled maintenance, and electricity came back only around 8PM.
5KM and 17/20 obstacles.
Not shabby for a comeback.
First time I did an obstacle race in stadium. This is at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Gelang Patah. Near the place I used to stay almost 20 years ago. A lot of development in this area ever since.

UPDATE 3rd October 2022: Spartan Race Malaysia had just released the photos!

Early this year, I wanted to go to Escape PJ when I learned they opened very nearby (Paradigm Mall is literally a walk away) but came fake pandemic measure MCO 2.0.
Now that most of Malaysia has reopened again – and so did Escape PJ – I checked out the place this weekend. If you buy your tickets online, you can save anywhere from 10% to 20% on the fee depending on how early you book.
The experience is worth it, and even though we’ve spent a good 3 hours here, we did not get to try out every obstacle course. Partly due to the weekend crowd as well.
Will definitely come back a second time!
