Life Changing Money Challenge

9 years ago I joined the first Life Changing Party (now renamed Life Changing Money Challenge). Here I am again… So so so different ! Game is more app driven now, sumptuous food and great company!

What Is Life Changing Money Challenge?

Think of it as Monopoly or CashFlow 101 carried out in a live event. When you walk into the Hall, the year is 2016 (current). Every participant goes on the app and plays the game, Life Changing Money Challenge.

The game is driven by a virtual currency called LCD or “Life Changing Dollars”. The objective of the game is to amass as much LCDs as possible. Top 3 players with highest net worth wins.

How Is It Played?

The game is divided into two Phases. Phase 1 is basically played BEFORE the event itself. You start off with LCD 1 Million, and there is an incentive to start collecting LCD as all these carries over to the main event on the night itself.

Players get LCDs by referring friends, answering Q&As, or take a chance with Fate Codes (akin to gambling).

Phase 2 begins during the live event itself.

You start off with whatever you’ve earned in Phase 1 + LCD 10 Million.

Mirroring reality, players can do a variety of things to build (or lose) their wealth: buy Businesses, Franchises, stocks, properties, even gamble (lol), Auction, make deals with other Players, etc.

And just like real life, there are huge investments beyond individual players that it requires team work and negotiating.

Theoretically, every 20 minutes means 1 year has passed in the game – but some technical difficulties with the app and some events like Lively Larry and Auctioning took a bit more time than it should.

However the game ended at Year 2021, 5 years later…

What Do You Get For Winning?

Top 3 winners from Phase 1 and Phase 2 win various prizes.

As a sponsor of the event, I was not eligible for winning. But I still went all out to play. 😛

Even so, the players sure are crazy even if I were eligible, I wouldn’t have won any prizes haha…

In Phase 1, I finished 5th place.

In Phase 2, I finished 7th place – even with a windfall of LCD10Million from playing a silly ‘human jackpot’ game LOL

It was a fun night overall – it also doubled as a mini reunion with some of my workshop students and other business friends.

I’ve also learned what a saver I am when it comes to money. I suspect if I threw everything I had into stocks (I had good pickings) I would indefinitely make way more and possibly top everyone… then again, it’s not something I would’ve dare done in real life.

Learned a lot about my own money habits that night!

Professional Photoshoot Day

It’s time to update my photos for business use. Wasn’t satisfied with the ones I took 3 years ago as it was done on a bad hair day and with lack of preparation.

And since the photography fees aren’t that much more, I figured I might as well rope my Musemancer team in for individual photoshoot right at our office!

These are just some of the hundreds of photos taken. I’ve not taken so many photos of myself in my life, it makes me respect models and photographers more as they make it look easy!

I’m happier with how the photos turned out this time – a combination of good hair day and planning the poses in advance really helped. And I’ve never looked this good on camera, even if I say so myself. Haha! (Again, newfound respect for professional photographers and models… I just got a tiny glimpse in their daily work routine)

You’ll be seeing photos like these on my sales pages, videos, and sites in the coming weeks and months… it’s going to last me a long time this time!

30th

So yeah, I finally hit the big 3 (or as PeiWen said, “Welcome to the 3-series club”) There was a time when 30 years old seemed far away, but nowadays it feels like time flies faster.

First headed to office to (pretend to) be surprised by a birthday cake celebration. (This happened last year and the year before that)

While I usually spend my birthdays like any other day, this time I bought myself a toy…

… PlayStation 4. 🙂 Because the PS3 is spoilt.

Starting off with two games – Until Dawn and The Last Of UsMortal Kombat X was sold out.

I was just thinking: in my schooling years I loved playing video games a lot – had plenty of time for it, but yearned for the cash to spend on them.

Today, I can spend on entertainment without a flinch… only problem is: not much for time for it!

Partly because games nowadays are going towards ‘open world’ and playing time gets longer and longer. Games today aren’t as linear as before where you can finish in just a few hours tops. Some can take days, and that’s if you’re committed!

But the gamer in me still hasn’t outgrown; when I’m not working and when I’m not outdoors, this can be my entertainment at home 🙂

Operation White Rhino III

Spent the weekend away from phone and Internet to join a 2 day Airsoft game in Indonesia.

This is my third time back in this army camp, and it had been a cold, rainy game – alternating between the jungle and local residence nearby.

This was the least enjoyable MILSIM of the three times I came here – partly due to the heavy downpour, but there was significantly less fire fight, and more walking in the woods at night… under the heavy rain too.

I’ve shared my feedback with the Organizers and understandably there’s no such thing as a perfect game; I hope there will be more action the next time I come here. But if anything, it was still a much needed break from my Online Business. I’ve gotten a lot more busy this year; this is practically the third time I’ve played Airsoft ever for 2016. Before this, I’ve played frequently – at least 1-2 times a month – for the last 7 years.

Until the next MILSIM…

Putrajaya Morning Drive

Right after party night, comes an early morning drive – what a happening weekend! Again, it’s not all the time I find an occasion to dress better than usual. The morning drive was just as rare.

Thus the morning drive doubled as both photography takes and also driving lesson for Charis! She’s got a driving license but rarely drove as she worked in Singapore for a few years.

Here’s driving lesson in progress with the Ultimate Driving Machine…
