10 Days in Egypt!

Almost exactly a year ago, I was crafting my dream board (I’m looking at it right now). One of the places I must visit was Egypt.

Going there wasn’t a problem. Finding a companion to go with was the real challenge.

And we did it… finally!

I went with Elle Wong and Colleen. 8) Colls is the latest member of our “work from home” gang. πŸ˜› And I should thank my lucky stars, not all the time I get to travel with two beautiful women LOL πŸ˜› (oh, and I got to know another one during the trip too!)

So we joined a tour group, Globalite, and went to Egypt for 10 days 8 nights (27th November – 6th December).

A total of 28 in all, we Malaysians were joined by Egyptian tour leader Haytham Mostfa (pronounced ‘Haisem’) and we covered several places.

From the temples of Luxor and markets of Azwan, cruising the Nile River, to the city of Alexandria and the streets of Cairo. Of course, the best saved for the last, we also had been to the Great Pyramids of Giza! πŸ˜€

I uploaded a bunch of photos on Facebook, the other bulk is also on Elle’s photo album.

I have to admit: ever since I learned to compile videos, I got a lot more lazy uploading photos on my blog.

Check out my video – it sums up the trip in 5 minutes. I only wish I bought a Federer hat and leather jacket before the trip. Enjoy!

24th Birthday

Damn. I’m not getting young.

Given the tight schedule, my upcoming Egypt trip and the need to go to Johor, I decided to throw an early birthday party.

With my mind occupied on many things (a big part thanks to the excitement of going to Egypt) I booked a VIP room at Red Box karaoke. Got a little bit of discount thanks to Khai Ng‘s member card.

The room could fit about 20 people, so I invited my main friends: (if the room could hold more people I’d invite more!)

– Internet Marketers
– SRDC’ians
– Ex-DJians
– Team Mercenaries
– RYM

Me and Yuenn. How come she gets more gorgeous with age? Hmmm…

Karaoke’s nothing without Khai. You know, this is actually deja vu. Look back at what happened 3 years ago.

My best best buddy for 2 consecutive years πŸ™‚

Wow, Evelyn Toh! Idol! She’s easily amused, and that’s what I like about her. πŸ˜›

With Terence Toh and Joshua Thong. Bummer I couldn’t join them and the rest of the gang for the RYM Camp. That would be the time I’m flying off to Egypt. πŸ™

Dulcie and Delia! πŸ™‚

Roy and Ziet. Was a pleasant surprise to see Roy here actually, when he’s based in Singapore!

Marcus Chang joined the party later. Excellent screamer. Can’t say the same for singing though. πŸ™‚

Only the people who came that night knows what song Terence was singing! Let’s leave it at that.

Kent, Ashley, Kenneth, Zim… Gangsta!

Screaming away…

I don’t know how, but someone included Thai songs into the play list! And since there were English subtitles, we might as well sing to our best word for word!

Have fun at the RYM Camp! πŸ™‚

Wrapped up the night with a birthday cake.

Went back to Johor the next day, and spent my actual birthday with Mom and sister Ashley at our new home there.

Thanks everyone and I feel so blessed to have you friends in my life!

Dee Ferdinand and Jodie O’Tania Wedding

Congratulations Dee and Jodie for tying the knot on 9th November 2010! May you both have a blissful, loving, everlasting marriage and journey together! πŸ™‚

NOTE: I didn’t take many pictures on my trip to Jakarta this time. It’s so embarrassingly little! But if you want to see them, they’re on my Facebook photo album.

City Square Shooting Gallery

I didn’t know such a place exist in Malaysia… until my friend Nic Thooi told me about it. And I knew right away that we had to check it out. The City Square Shooting Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.

So a group of us friends arrived at the entrance of gallery and first thing we needed to do was fill in some forms, including the one for indemnity. (heart thumping)

For the next 2 hours, our Instructor Kelvin showed us how to handle and shoot a handgun properly.

“This is how you reload the gun…”

For beginners, we practiced pushing in the 9mm rounds into the magazine. The more rounds you put in, the harder it gets.

There were Glocks, M1911s, and CZ75s. We fired the Glock23 and M1911.

The proper way to hold the handgun. Nic has fired handguns before in the States, thus this being the second time for him.

This was just before I discharged the first live round in my life. We were told not to wear the ear protection just yet, to find out how loud the firing really is. And yes, it was REALLY LOUD.

(Note I was holding the gun in ‘tea pot’ position. This is not the best way to hold a handgun. I feel so cheated and lied to after playing all those computer games.)

Us boys standing in a line and taught the proper stance of holding and firing a pistol.

“Now that’s the proper way!” Personally, I prefer the European grip compared to American grip but each to their own.

Pictures tell very little, I’ll let you watch this video we took while shooting targets. πŸ™‚

Honest to goodness truth, I felt really scared when handling the gun. The computer games made it look so easy. What a wrong mindset to have! But then, I got used to it later into the course. πŸ™‚

If you want to try out shooting, you can look up CSSG. They are on Facebook too, just look up their fan page.

We fired about 20-25 rounds each, which I think it’s more than enough for a person. Any more and your wrists will probably get sore from all the gun recoil.
